The 'Digital Backpack' is the Directorate's online portal which provides access to a range of online learning platforms for students and teachers.
The Digital Backpack is Single Sign-On, which means your SchoolsNET username and password will grant you access to the online services that are available at your school. Clicking any of the launch icons will take you into the service using your SchoolsNET credentials.
Google Apps for Education
The Digital Backpack has been updated for 2015 to include access to Google Apps for Education (GAFE), a cloud-based system offering online productivity tools for classroom collaboration. Google Apps also provides students and teachers with unlimited cloud storage in Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides. GAFE also provides student email and other modern online communication tools such as Google Classroom.

Our ACT Education Gmail is hosted on our own SchoolsNET domain @schoolsnet.act.edu.au which gives the Directorate more control over settings and security.
