The Performance and Development process has been reviewed and redesigned in accordance to Clause P3.3 of the ACTPS Education and Training Directorate (Teaching Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2014-2018 (EA), with the objective of aligning the performance, assessment and development procedures with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (Standards). The performance and development process in schools is aligned with the current ACTPS Performance and Capability Framework.
Building a strong performance culture in every school requires a designed and planned process to produce high performing teachers. This refreshed approach will motivate and engage teachers and school leaders in a performance and development process that builds their capabilities in striving for teaching and leadership excellence.
The framework reflects the Directorate’s commitment to improving student outcomes, fostering individual accountability and critical reflection, and supporting individual action on performance information. It focuses on the achievement of system and school priorities and individual professional learning.
